Congress warned North Korean EMP attack would kill '90% of all Americans'
DOTR WHEN?????
Congress was warned Thursday that North Korea is capable of attacking the U.S. today with a nuclear EMP bomb that could indefinitely shut down the electric power grid and kill 90 percent of "all Americans" within a year.
At a House hearing, experts said that North Korea could easily employ the "doomsday scenario" to turn parts of the U.S. to ashes.
In calling on the Pentagon and President Trump to move quickly to protect the grid, the experts testified that an explosion of a high-altitude nuclear bomb delivered by a missile or satellite "could be to shut down the U.S. electric power grid for an indefinite period, leading to the death within a year of up to 90 percent of all Americans."

If an EMP hits the US then you'll see fires consume cities – not because the EMP itself will cause the fires, but because any fires that start will now have issues being put out without proper infrastructure to handle it.

90% is certainly very high, but it would be a massively high number. The reasons are long term failure of nearly all large cities and the shit storm that proceeds after the failure of every form of law and order etc. Likewise you will not have the military going in there to create law and order or supply food, water, etc. Most all the influential or important members of the societal elite will be shipped off to their underground and mountain bunkers where they will have all their needs met. Important military unites called back for defensive measures to protect them etc while the rest are told to "help the people of the nation" aka you're on your own.

Now what happens when all these elites want to come back and take power? You will have all those that tried to keep everything going and rebuild vs the coward narcissist who hid away and suffered nothing. They will have plenty of WORKING weaponry an force to reclaim fake law and order. So ya massive casualties from that.

Probably not 90%, but a large portion (read niggers, spics and urbanites) only have enough food for a few days. If the power went out, then all travel would grind to a half, meaning food can't get into the cities. First the niggers would roam out and start devouring everything like locusts, and this would create a run away effect that means local food would also be used up faster than it can produced.

If an EMP did hit, in a years time (especially after winter) the country would be a whole lot whiter.

Well, after a year things would begin to stabilize. The nonwhites will have either died or fled, and the whites will have either found themselves a group or got eaten by niggers. The whole "Road warrior" post apocalyptic scenario is dumb as hell and many levels. People are natrual tribal and would band together. Raiding would happen, but in the immediate aftermath organized raids would be far too costly. That means after a year you have hundreds of small but self sufficient white communities that are well armed and red pilled all to hell. The goverment attempting to come back would probably cause the most white deaths, no telling who would win. Hell, looking purely at growth, the birthrate would probably skyrocket without birth control, and with little else to do. At the ten year mark, if the goverment fails to take back power, America would probably be back on its feet and ready to find the jews that caused the problem to begin with. At the very least, after 10 years, communities would begin networking with each other again and forming trade routes.

Not that this could happen any time soon, but this would ultimately be a good time. A few months of utter unadulterated carnage, followed by scared survivors huddled around the fire would lead to safer and calmer America that can't or wont drone strike any rebels in Europe.

Jaxson Reyes

You'll electricity to try and properly coordinate the very limited fire departments in cities. Without your walk-talkies having the power they need, shit becomes hard to organize & get everything needed together. Add into that, if the power goes out then gas shipments will be delayed or discontinued entirely in a lot of regions & because of this fire trucks won't have the power they need to even get around.

Never forget that when the power goes out, plenty of people will abandon these facilities. Fire departments will surely lose plenty of their members who will go to their homes & take care of their family members over helping with the fires. This will certainly leave them understaffed if not leaving some fire departments abandoned.

To add onto this, while you don't need electricity for your water to run, you need electricity to get the water supplies above ground & at a height that the usage of gravity gives your plumbing its pressure to function.

Is very correct.

US cities have plenty of flammable material in their buildings. Plenty of forms of insulation(including older forms) can ignite and burn. Dry wall can also burn, furniture, carpeting. Cities may not be made out of wood, but they are full of plenty of things that can light on fire. Never forget that suddenly have a city populace adapt to using actual fires for cooking is a recipe for disaster. I bet you that most of the people who live in cities have no idea how to handle a fire, especially indoors.

implying that Europe wouldn't be hit with an EMP attack either.

If the North Koreans have hydrogen bombs then they can put up an arsenal that can knock out power for all of Europe & America with ease. You'd have to be retarded to attack one nation only to disable it and not its allies in the same stroke when you have the capability to do so.

Levi Smith
Levi Smith

you don't find it slightly unreasonable to assume that nork actually has that level of capability to target dozens of towers with perfect accuracy with their (((hydrogen bombs)))? the american and european missile defense systems are inferior to the overwhelming power of the north korean (((soopa doopa bomb)))? this just seems like an assumption that requires a bias towards nork superior strength.

not at all trying to insult or argue with you but just want to clarify your reasoning. if the entire game is "who strikes first wins" than why in the hell HAVEN'T they already? is china waiting for the right moment to send their little pup out to bite our leg? to clarify also - i am of the party that would be pleased with this scenario and its affect on america. to strive towards something better one must turn his back entirely on what is inferior! 14/88.

Full EMP shielding is rare, but it isn't a magical energy device that permanently disables electronics. In fact I would say any EMP capable of trying your personal computer to be inoperable would probably be so close that you would die from the blast.

An EMP is great at getting enough charge in the air to cause arcing in devices, particularly ones that are running, but it won't do much more than trip a few breakers or cause some transformers to blow. Yes, damaging. But at a scale that would take weeks and maybe months to repair, not permanently.

So, a good way to kill off sick people or the elderly depending on the time of year, but probably wouldn't do more than inconvenience people in cities.

All this talk of fires
You guys are missing the biggest danger: the collapse of the already overburdened health system. Fires are the least of your problems when things like infectious diseases, waterborne diseases, and lack of prolonged high complexity care. Diabetics and others with chronic diseases will be the first to die as the pharmacies are looted. Entire hospitals will shut down as critical staff can no longer come to work due to personal safety concerns or lack of fuel. Inpatients inside the hospitals will likely be prematurely discharged in the best cases, or just abandoned in the worst, similar to those nursing home patients.

The healthcare system is the most fragile infrastructure piece we have, even more so than fire and law enforcement.

Charles Green
Charles Green

good roll halfchan bro. this point is one that makes the most sense for the ultimate crippling "doomsday" scenario - if the norks even have the capability to do A N Y of this.

William Nguyen
William Nguyen

It's typically known that you have about thirty minutes warning from an ICBM strike. That of course is for a missile that intends to strike back down at the Earth, EMP strikes need only be in the upper atmosphere(basically space) before they explode. You wouldn't even need a necessarily large & relatively efficient nuclear bomb like a hydrogen bomb, you could just cluster Hiroshima level yields together on a bunch of power rockets, even have some decoy rockets as well.

If I had to guess though, it's because the North Koreans wouldn't want to even try. North Korea lives in a delicate balance between Russia, China & the US. Each of those three nations have orbital recon satellite that most definitely would be paying attention to other nuclear states, and the facilities needed to get a blitzkrieg style launch of all of those rockets would be nearly impossible without getting their attention.

As an aside, the kind of facilities needed to launch multiple rockets would require tons of fuel storage, giant launch pads, tons of work done to load up their nuclear arsenal into these rockets & most importantly of all, testing done on rockets that would be capable of entering into low-earth orbit.

The biggest threat of nuclear war would probably be if the Russian deadhand system is real and someone triggers it.

The biggest problems are with shipments as far as I see. Last I remembered, only about 1% of Americans make the food that everyone eats. Those bread-basket areas of the country are very distant in a lot of cases from some of our most populace cities. Without electricity too, it becomes harder & harder to get gas stations the gas they need to get everything around and the major city centers turn to cess pools of starving, violent retards.

I was only talking about the US. The entire would would change so drastically that would be unrecognizable. Without America to enforce it's brand of peace, many counties would try and gain land, Israel would find itself friendless and with very angry neighbors, Europe would have nationalist movements and communist movements suddenly realizing their counties militaries are barebones due to them relying on the US military, moslems would either help Iran destroy Israel or flock to Europe to pretend they are conquerors, Africa and India would depopualte so hard it's not even funny, China would find themselves facing a shit ton of angry unemployed men, Japan would probably remiliarize and go imperial again. The vacuum of power left by America would be nothing like we've seen before, it would be even more drastic than Rome falling. The world of 2030 would be totally alien to us, and would probably have something like 3 billion less (mostly nonwhite) people.

The biggest problems are with shipments as far as I see.
In the case of medication, especially things like antibiotics that aren't basic first line stuff, insulin, antivirals, and other critical but complex medication, its not even a factor of shipment in some cases, but rather production. Entire lines of pharma factories would go dark and medication would stop being produced. You can have a decade's supply of food but die to a small cut if its not treated properly.

I'll go back to my example of prematurely discharged patients. What happens if one of those patients has something like MRSA that normal antibiotics can't treat, and they are released into the public before being fully cured? The possibilities are chilling. Cities could be actual legit death traps beyond basic nigger antics when sewage starts backing up and cholera becomes widespread.
I don't think you understand what I'm getting at. Food is the least of your problems when a particularly nasty virus is spreading like wildfire with a 40% mortality rate. I doesn't matter how many guns or foodstuffs you have if anything more deadly than the common cold comes by.

Brayden Wilson
Brayden Wilson

Well, I should rephrase that a little. The clever & violent will get bands together. In all likelihood it will niggers and spics using their already amassed manpower and their familiar dealings to controlling their populace to move into the country-side. The best thing whites could do is prep and get ready, and in the event that everything goes to shit, make local governments & fortify the living areas of the residential areas & keep well-armed groups close to farms so they can respond quickly to any raids.

MRSA primarily can only infect someone through an open wound. Plenty of these diseases would be a problem, but first aid knowledge is commonplace in our societies & alcohol can kill bacteria and cleanse wounds pretty easily.

In the wide absence of medicine there are some nice tricks & folk remedies fellow /pol/acks might want to know:

Honey & purified salt(salt that has been concentrated from fresh boiled water.) work very well for keeping a wound clean.

Purifying water by boiling is nice, but make sure you have filtered water through any kind of straining element(I.E. use cloth or anything with small holes to keep particulate matter our). You can help preserve your water & clean it further by using silver or copper with in the storage vessel you use to keep your water. Preferably silver, as silver has a harder time rusting.

You can purify water with bleach. I can't remember the exact amount per gallon of water, but I'm pretty sure it was one drop of bleach per gallon. After you apply the bleach, leaving the container open to the air to let the chlorine in the bleach evaporate.

You can make gunpowder quite easily, see the youtube video.(Part 1 makes really shitty gunpowder, not even worth watching for the most part.) The basics of it is that you can get potassium nitrate from water full of nitrates(composting with lots of protein or broken down proteins gets this accomplished for the most part.) being mixed with hard wood ash(for the Potassium itself) then mix it with charcoal & sugar to make black powder(one of the many forms, you could use sulfur too instead of sugar.)

& Finally, learn how to make goods. Learning how to make booze, blacksmith, fish, hunt or even farming will be absolutely invaluable if everything goes to shit.

Alexander Butler

Well no evidence has been shown that they have thermonuclear weapons, but probably boosted fission. Thermonuclear weapons are fucking massive, and would take a quantum leap in NK missile tech to carry.

Starfish Prime blew out all of Hawaiis electronics, which took many months to repair. We have a shitload more electronics today, the damage from a single EMP optimized detonation is massive.

Yet another reason to industrialize space, nuclear weapons are not the end-all-be-all weapons that they are in atmosphere, when you are defending your orbital habitat.

thermonuclear weapons
Thermonuclear weapons are less efficient at producing EMP because the first stage can pre-ionize the air which becomes conductive and thereby rapidly shorting out the Compton currents generated by the fusion stage. Because of this, small pure fission weapons with thin cases (that don't block the gamma ray burst) are far more efficient at causing EMP than most megaton bombs.

What matters most is the gamma ray emission. The weapons the norks are making could be designed for this, theoretically with Californium (unlikely) or some other suitable high gamma ray fissile material.

Starfish Prime caused electrical damage in Hawaii, about 900 miles away from the detonation point, knocking out about 300 streetlights.

Modern electronics have become increasingly vulnerable to EMP damage. The increasing reliance on integrated circuits/microcontrollers and the ever shrinking CMOS device fabrication process have contributed to this.

Our electronics are manufactured in China, and may have had EMP vulnerability designed in.

(blogpost incoming)

The advent of the "on-demand" supply chain has enabled companies to keep smaller and smaller quantities of products on store shelves. With the addition of inventory management technology and the immense pressure these companies were under during the credit crunch from '08-'12. Most companies are highly efficient and only have what they need on store shelves for days, not weeks, ahead of demand. This goes all the way up the stack, the days of the country having warehouses of extra food and supplies ready to throw into the supply chain were nearly over in the pre-recession era, since then it's just gotten worse.

Anyone in manufacturing, distribution, or related fields will know this. Any good analysis will show that population centers only have enough food on their shelves or immediate supply chain for 3-5 days. After that people will start to starve.

Now, extrapolate that into the farming & agriculture fields where more items are automated or mechanized. Inventory management systems, trucks, tractors, etc. There are only approximately 1000 large farms that provide the vast majority of the resources to the food manufacturing supply chain. There are very few people that know how to farm on a large scale without the support of 100 years of farming technology and infrastructure. Even fewer that understand how to do it for 330 million people.

This also doesn't take into account the vast quantities of grain, corn, and sugar we export to the turd world.

Hundreds of millions will die. In the US. Billions will die world-wide.

interestingly any real knowledge about manmade emp is quite rare
there is some debate that for the circuitry breaking E1 pulse there is a limited to max strength as having higher energy nuclear blasts would not cause more emp but would ionize the air into a plasma and thus simply conduct current
the real problem in a emp attack on the usa is the E3 emp pulse, this one is similar to for instance solar flares
in this case any large conductor such as power lines start to experience a lot of problems as the changing magnetic field induces current in them
if it were a solar flare the energy would be so high that you would have wildfires everywere near exposed wiring, however a nuclear emp probably doens't have enough power to do this
what would happen is a cascading failure of the powergrid where due to the excessive pwoer all the high voltage transformers would get blown out
and this is the critical unrepairable damage to the grid, as these things typically have operational lives of 50 years, replacing one isn't straightforward and if enough are damage simultaneously they could not be replaced ever
as the factories to build them and the suplly chain aren't powered
without the transformers you could restart coal plants but could only distribute electricity locally and with risk of again overloading your already damaged transmissionlines
this is btw why here on Holla Forums we regurly say that we could always start the dotr by sabotaging the grid this way
now the usa is particular vulnerable to this type of attack as the usa has only 3 grids: east, west and texas
in a hypothetical attack the norks would board two container ships one pacific, one atlantic, install a launcher and launch 2 nukes right of the coast of comminifornia and jew york thus breaking both grids that supply the entire usa ex texas
for real world reference see that many power blackouts caused by storms that also overloaded the grid and forced very large regions into shutdown
europe on the other hand has many independent power grids and would require a large number of nukes to achieve the same effect, not familiar enough with china or russia to speak aobut their power infrastructure, but pretty sure like everything else in china it is made out of cardboard and sand

so in short the norks with only 2 functional nukes could pose a real danger to the usa

That's very good news for you, but surely you must recognize that most Americans, even most rural Americans, would be up shit creek.

Even rural America is populated beyond local capacity in most areas. The reason local food is available to you is likely because many people in your area are eating imported food. Where they all forced to eat local food as well, your local food sources would be strained. Cityfags are fucked 100%, but even most rural Americans would be in bad shape.

Monocrop is a bad problem as well. Many agricultural communities dedicate their production to only a handful of crops that would be poorly suited for long-term human consumption. They could plant more diverse foods during the next growing season, but that would take time and how many would starve in the meantime? A thousand acre farm that's doing a very typical corn and soybean rotation won't be able to feed many people…

EMP
Semi-common theme in apocalyptic Hollywood film, Escape From LA being the stand out one
Right-Theocrat President, a massive earthquake turns the last part of LA into a Australia-type prison colony; hero goes in to kill his own daughter and obtain the nuclear football/EMP; ends up doing EMP-ing the earth just to Kazcinski the whole thing.

Between that and Terminator: GENYSIS
naming Judgement Day as 10/17/2017 with a whole John Conner-as-FalseMessiah switcheroo (using a Ted Cruz look alike, kek), would be on high alert for happenings.

This, but then a choice between Chinese, Indian, Russian or Mexican lebensraum incursion (if they aren't glassing each other)

Please. They'd get maybe 3 days to a week on top. As soon as whites realized the fucking Jew ZOG machine wouldn't be there to arrest them for killing their pet niggers and spics, it'd be game fucking on.

The only reason whites are 'passive' right now is because our superior logic and reasoning abilities tell us that, at this moment, killing nogs and spics without a nationwide reciprocity of all whites doing the same —- nothing would be gained except a few dead niggers and spics, while the Jew and ZOG would easily replace them and their actions would be used to shift the Overton Window to further enslave whites.

Without the ZOG police state protecting the kikes and their nigger and spic golems, whites would finally be unchained and it would then be relatively easy to reclaim our country. Why do you think they created the police state every to begin with? What is it used for? For suppressing white resistance to their own replacement and enslavement. EMP would, in one fell swoop, effectively destroy the majority of the strength of the ZOG machine.

This is why the kikes want desperately to keep the police state in power — to bring about a slow slide into serfdom and slavery and imperceptible breeding out of whites everywhere. That's Option A. Failing that, they will resort to Option B – they also have plans to keep control should the police state become weakened. It's called shuffling away to their fully stocked billion dollar govt and private bunkers and letting us all waste our resources killing each other. Then, when people are desperate enough (yet definitely NOT waiting too long for when we've re-established the proper order to society) they'll roll out in their stockpiled armored vehicles and other goodies to enslave the people — who likely will literally do anything, sacrifice any freedom, pimp their white daughters to the nigger bradley commander for a snickers bar.

Option A is their preferable choice. Option B is not but they are preparing for that possible scenario as well. Remember, kikes have ALWAYS tried to control both sides of a conflict, that way when it's a winner take all fight —- backing both players always is a 100% successful outcome. The only rational choice is "strange game — the only winning move is not to play". And by not playing it means you move to kill the kikes first after you've gained IMMEDIATE security in your relative area and established logistics. Find their fucking bunkers and either seal them in, or burn them out.

******

Regarding a nuke —- go read up on EMP/HEMP tech. A fission device is a more efficient EMP generator for sure, however, the tests conducted at the levels of 'normal' emp devices (just a regular nuke at high altitude) don't generate an EM field strong enough to kill most vehicles. If I recall correctly, most modern cars, when running, would not shut off. Those that would shut off would still restart and while the dash lights and warning codes were going apeshit, the vehicle could still be shifted into gear and provide locomotion. Cars that were not turned on still had a relatively few that were disabled. The power grid, however, most likely would still be fucked. But if you have vehicles, likely that would be a huge boon to recovery efforts as supplies could still be moved. There still would be mass chaos, but you could still move people and equipment around (as long as there was fuel).

The thing people don't realize is that there are THEORETICAL devices called "super" EMP weapons that have been mathematically show to be possible to create that would generate EM fields with orders of magnitude higher amounts than a 'regular' EMP set off by a conventional nuke. Likely, in all my reading, these devices would fuck EVERYTHING.

In any case, faraday cages are easy to construct, but the thing you have to pay attention to is that EMP protection is rated in decibels (just like sound) and that depending on the amount of sheilding you have directly relates to the amount of EM energy your devices inside could withstand. I have a Faraday cage that likely would protect my NVGs, Comms, and other senitive equipment from a conventional EMP device, but likely I'll have to improve it to be confident of a 'super EMP' weapon. Note: No superpower has ever "admitted" to possessing a Super EMP device, but only an idiot would think that means they aren't out there.

Regardless, if an EMP goes off that destroys ALL vehicles and normally shielded tech — you can rest assured it wasn't the NorKs that did it. Cue false flag kikery initiating Plan B.

If it does that to more than a single city (at most, keep in mind most skyscrapers are metal so it probably wouldn't damage more than a few blocks worth of electronics - if in the air it would just get the top floors) then it wasn't even a single EMP. The horizon is still a thing and if you can't see another city the EMP isn't going that far. It would take over 300 actual full power (what OUR military is capable of) EMP devices just to drop the power in the major cities, and that still doesn't even get 50% of the population. The EMP thing is FUD or prep for a false flag.

While you're a little right, you're also a bit off track. The height of the nuke determines the radius of coverage re: horizon line. 50 miles vs 250 miles. However buildings, while FRAMED with metal, are extremely porous to EM fields. It also would depend on the geometry of the buildings relative to the EM source. A building directly beneath the EM blast would likely have the electons passing perpendicular to the ground —- as such the people in the lower levels would be more protected by the relative mass of the floors above them soaking up the electrons. The flip side is that directly below the blast is also where the intensity/concentration of the electrons will be the most.

If we take this situation to a building on the far extremes of the horizon relative to the EM source, we also find that while the intensity/concentration of EM waves are considerably less, buildings are very porous to EM fields and give that the EM particles would be essentially traveling parallel to the ground, they would be hit all the same without the building providing any cover.

It would also take considerably less nukes than 300 to wipe out our grid system. The concept of cascading failures is a concept not at all unfamiliar to cyber attackers and other groups. As electrical grids fail, relays and switches will automatically reroute power around 'dead' areas to try and still provide power to as much as they can. This is fine for a lightning storm or such, when a few lines are down………..but when you have MASSIVE amounts of failures, all that rerouting eventually will overload all the circuitry and infastructure and it will all catastrophically fail. All the substations and other facilities.

Theoretically, you can take out the entire continental USA grid with as little as 2 maybe 3 nukes overlapping and simply let the cascade failures take care of the rest. But likely 5 or 6 would be ideal. A lot less than 300 and VERY within the realm of possibility when the gov tells people that "the NorKs et al did this! They snuck them in on shipping freighters and launched via hidden SCUD missiles they had! Give us your guns and Precious medals (and your daughters) and we'll give you some shitty MREs and Dasani bottles! Be a good go-er, guy and comply! We're at war after all! The height of the nuke determines the radius of coverage
It's mostly the yield, because the inverse square law ensures that the height is a pretty trivial factor when looking at the EM aspect of it. Height is for thermonuclear weapons, but has a negative impact on EM because drops off exponentially with distance.
buildings are very porous to EM fields
Given my cellphone doesn't work for shit in anything but a wood building, I'd say the rebar has a noticeable effect.
It would also take considerably less nukes than 300 to wipe out our grid system.
6 per state really isn't that much, Hell, I'm in Maine and we have more than 6 failsafes. An EMP is a sci-fi weapon with no practical purpose, it's cheaper and less weight to use a real nuke with a yield which actually burns the area otherwise fried because the EM effects are more or less limited to about 2x the thermonuclear radius - you can get this to 3x, MAYBE 4x if you surround the whole thing in peizoelectric ceramic coated with metal on each side, but you're still looking at massively increasing the weight by doing so.

Given my cellphone doesn't work for shit in anything but a wood building, I'd say the rebar has a noticeable effect.
A cell phone is an extremely poor indicator of EMP effectiveness. Cell towers are 1 — not aimed up at buildings, they're directed at the ground, and 2 - the EM frequency of cell signals are a single freq easily disrupted by glass and other matter —- completely different than that of HEMPs (and CMEs), which propagate and travel in nearly every wave on the spectrum (think of a spark-gap generator).

An EMP is a sci-fi weapon with no practical purpose, it's cheaper and less weight to use a real nuke with a yield which actually burns the area otherwise fried because the EM effects are more or less limited to about 2x the thermonuclear radius - you can get this to 3x
EMP are not "sci-fi". Starfish prime proved that it was more than enough to pop relatively stable older-tech over 1000 miles away. This isn't some fantasy. The inverse square doesn't apply to the nuke itself as much as it applies to the magnetic field of the Earth. The nuke supplies the initial electron surge, but the Compton Effect via the magnetic field is what amplifies the main damaging EM particles.

The entire premise isn't that the EMP would do some kind of catastrophic irreparable damage to us — it's that it would destroy our 'just in time' logistical system enough to cause us to implode and start killing ourselves.

Michael Hughes

Cell towers are 1 — not aimed up at buildings, they're directed at the ground
Not true, modern cell towers used phased array technology which is physically identical to a directional antenna from the standpoint of the building someone is using a cellphone inside of.
2 - the EM frequency of cell signals are a single freq easily disrupted by glass and other matter
Metal is metal. Buildings which aren't wood have rebar, buildings which are wood usually still have metal film over their insulation (aside from sprayfoam.) All that metal in cities adds up to seriously attenuating electromagnetic radiation.
completely different than that of HEMPs (and CMEs), which propagate and travel in nearly every wave on the spectrum (think of a spark-gap generator).
I know what it is, metal is still metal.
Starfish prime proved that it was more than enough to pop relatively stable older-tech over 1000 miles away.
Starfish prime was a fucking massive nuke, it would have done more damage dropped directly on a city. Going back to one of my original points: if we have EMP knock even most of things offline, it's a false flag. Also, Starfish prime proved no such thing, 1,000 miles just happens to be the distance it was from Hawaii.
The inverse square doesn't apply to the nuke itself as much as it applies to the magnetic field of the Earth.
Kek, no. The inverse square law applies to ALL electromagnetic radiation - this is basic physics shit. Whatever amplitude the EM blast has, it drops off exponentially. This is why a nuke isn't going to get more than 2x it's thermal radius in electromagnetic damage. Hell, the Sun sends out actually charged particle streams with much more power than our most powerful nukes every few months which gets converted entirely to electromagnetic radiation when they strike the atmosphere and the distance of ~600 miles is plenty to block anything on the ground from shorting. Sometimes the power companies see the meters flicker for really long lines (several miles,) but that's it. Going back to another original point: it's not going to take out more than 1 city per EMP, probably will take multiple EMPs for larger cities like SF.
he nuke supplies the initial electron surge, but the Compton Effect via the magnetic field is what amplifies the main damaging EM particles.
This has nothing to do with anything, the magnetism is literally the M in EM (the other part is electricity.) The Compton Effect is largely limited to inside the casing of the nuke from a practical standpoint (and certainly no more than 100ft away from it regardless) because the damage of an EM pulse comes from it being a high frequency (rapidly changing) pulse. You can do more damage to most things by removing the door from your microwave oven because an EMP only fires off 1 pulse.
The entire premise isn't that the EMP would do some kind of catastrophic irreparable damage to us — it's that it would destroy our 'just in time' logistical system enough to cause us to implode and start killing ourselves.
That's not remotely true, it's simply what the media wants you to believe. Look at Puerto Rico right now, worst case scenario that's whatever individual city gets hit with an EMP (and frankly they could still do more damage with the nuke itself.)
There is no EMP weapon today (outside of maybe a black budget project owned by our own government) capable of knocking out more than a single city per shot (and even that is stretching it.)

We made one in college labs, the 'power' is basically all in how fast you can close/cancel the flux field. Which is why all "emp grenades" (yes, those are technically possible) use an explosive charge to collapse the flux field as quickly as possible. The other factor is the size/density of the capacitor. It's been a while and i might be getting my nomenclature wrong, but i'm sure you understand what I'm saying. But when you say "very powerful", we're talking about a very relative term.

There are also weapons that can shut down vehicles that have been on display for some time now for ZOG contracts.

Starfish prime was a fucking massive nuke, it would have done more damage dropped directly on a city.
Dude, if you want to completely annihilate a city, yeah, dropping a huge Thermonuclear bomb will get you more physical destruction if you airburst it about 1km above the city. But if you want the biggest 'bang for your buck' an EMP is the way to go. PERIOD.

You keep thinking linearly. The idea behind an EMP is not to waste your nukes on stupid physical destruction, while leaving the rest of the machine running —- you choke off the cities from resupply and basic necessities to have the people of the USA do the work FOR you. Again, you're not thinking strategically. You're thinking tactically.

That's not remotely true, it's simply what the media wants you to believe. Look at Puerto Rico right now, worst case scenario that's whatever individual city gets hit with an EMP (and frankly they could still do more damage with the nuke itself.)
Yeah, go look at Puerto Rico. There is crime everywhere. It's not a hellhole like other places because it's a relatively temporal event and there is massive amounts of supplies coming in from white guilt stricken-dipshits. National guard has to stamp out looting. The media isn't showing you what's going on because they don't want to show subhuman shitskins looting and shooting. Because "dat b rasis".

If you really want to see what it'll be like — go look at NOLA when Katrina hit. Hell, go look at when the EBT card system goes down. That is what is going to happen. The niggers are going to have the chimp out to end all chimpenings.

NOLA is almost the perfect example. Read the pol capture about the white neighborhoods that had to band together to keep the nigger hordes out of their community because they were coming for the gibs. Niggers areas being fucking hellscapes. While white in MS and other areas more isolated and away from chimp populations worked together and had amazing amounts of safety, stability, and a generally much better and easier recovery time.

Again. You simply don't understand what it is you're saying. A stupid cell tower is NOT an analog to an EMP event. Period. Your logic is saying that because my wifi router cannot reach from one side of my house to the other, that my house is "EMP proof". Turn on a radio in your building. If you can get a radio station to come on, then you are vulnerable. That is a much better analog to use. Not a cell phone.

Only if you plan to invade and take the resources. For NK the biggest bang for their buck is actually killing a city, not blowing out the power grid for a week (remember those solar flares I mentioned? This is what I've been trying to say. You can do way more damage by cutting off the electrical grid to the USA than just blowing up one stupid city, which in the grand scheme of things is just pointless.

For NK the biggest bang for their buck is actually killing a city, not blowing out the power grid
Do you have any clue how infintesimally retarded it is to blow up a city? Even if you completely nuke and wipe DC off the face of the earth — total glow in the dark skulls and skeletons Terminator 2 opening scene, and it won't mean shit to the USA war capability.

If you take out our electrical grid you're essentially choking off the USA's blood supply. Logistics is what wins wars, not physical destruction. In the past, these two were usually one in the same, but the way our society is set up like one big fucking rube-goldberg machine, it's so much easier and more effective to damage the USA by effectively "weaponizing" the groids and shitskins already here.

It's like saying the goat fuckers are going to use a dirty bomb - it's not happening and if it does happen it's fake because an actual nuke is more damaging by a VERY wide margin.
You're either lying or work in an area completely unrelated to what you're trying to proclaim knowledge of.

Creating a nuclear bomb is much MUCH more difficult than acquiring radioactive material. If a dirty bomb ever went off I'd immediately suspect false flag, but that in no way shape or form says anything about the fact that detonating a dirty bomb is as simple as getting radioactive material and blowing it up with conventional slow moving explosive (ANFO, TATP, etc) and spreading the shit around. Strontium and Cesium particles are used all over the places as gamma sources for oilfield exploration. You can't create a nuke with it but it'll fuck your shit up if you walk through a yellow ANFO cloud full of it.

Again, it's not matter of physical destructive force. It's about creating a social phenomenon that precipitates societal anarchy and chaos requiring the USA gov to expend exponentially larger amounts of time and material to get a hold of than just blowing up one stupid city. Which all it would physically take is just cordon off the area, search for survivors, quarantine, and render aid (on TV).

And entire sector of the country going fucking bananas because the entire electrical grid and the infrastructure physically destroyed by a cascade domino effect is just an end-move play.

But of course, if it happens it won't be real, because we have the capability to shoot ICBMs down, we have the capability to withstand most EM pulses, and the EM pulse from a nuke cannot physically wipe out even half a state, let alone half the nation.
So what is it?
Trump is making headway
Antifa aren't scaring people

Let's shut off the lights, scare the plebs, and send them off to die in a drawn out war so they're more manageable

probably the same day, we buttfuck all of NK with nukes, if it's real.
Well of course, we're talking about a scenario where some country has 3 or 4 nukes and wants to make the biggest bang for their buck. Maybe they even figure that they can get away with it if they do it anonymously enough. Your trying to use reason to build yourself some logical "Maginot Line", just to find out that it doesn't mean shit when they just fly over you.

we have the capability to withstand most EM pulses, and the EM pulse from a nuke cannot physically wipe out even half a state, let alone half the nation.
Jesus christ, you literally cannot stop with the "no physical destruction" mantra. THIS ISN'T A FANTASY. No one is going to attack an American city directly with one nuke or even 5 nukes if that's all they have. But they can cripple large portions of the USA with EMPs. PERIOD.

The electrical grid CANNOT handle the cascade failure effects from an EMP strike. PERIOD. I've already said that the vehicles likely will be okay. But the "grid" is and will be fucked. The main transformer substations have specialized equipment that would take YEARS to be rebuilt. The kind of shit you can't just hop on down to WalMart and pick up. And who's going to rebuild them? Us? Like we got the spares laying around? Yeah no. And are we going to manufacture them? Yeah not without power we wont.

And while we're busy recovering from our ass-fucking, you REALLY think China and the others wouldn't be trying to prolong our misery as long as possible so they could start doing the shit they really wanna do? Like take over Taiwan. Maybe India would say fuck it and nuke Pakistan (great idea). Maybe Russia would just invade all of Ukraine. Who knows — without the USA it's a free for all to see who could fill the power vacuum. But that's global shit. We would be busy fighting off the nigger and spic hordes over here trying to come for the white gibs. Every goddamn suburban area would be playing "boer farmer in Zimbabwe". For real.

Camden Bennett
Camden Bennett

A short to medium range ballistic missile (SCUD variant, etc) can easily be concealed in a cargo shipping container and be fired off the coast of the USA and reach EMP altitudes in less than 5 to 10 minutes, depending on launch location. Even if we had the stuff here, we couldn't get it up and running in time to intercept.

It's like saying 'well we can shoot down an airliner if it is hijacked and threatening to be flown into a building — an F15 can catch up in no time!". (inb4 9/11 false flag shit – I KNOW). The point remains.

You misunderstand, the Navy has enough artillery to wipe out ANY nation on Earth in under a month and they can last 24 without resupply from the mainland.
What do you think happens if they attack, if it's a REAL attack and not a fake attack to get people to go into a ground war? Trump says "kill them all" and we carpet nuke the entire shithole.
But of course it's not real, because if it were real the MSM wouldn't mention it, they would sit on it because it might unite people against NK. Instead the MSM are pumping it nonstop - the only real ambiguity is if they are trying to meme it into reality or if they are planning a false flag.

Again. You have no idea what you're talking about. Lighting strikes take out entire areas all the time. Most of you all are little youngfags so you might not have ever experienced this, but if you've ever had a lightning strike close to your house and the landline on the wall popped and was ruined —– that was essentially an EMP effect.

A nuke detonated at high altitude would essentially be the equivalent of lighting striking near everything, all at once, over extremely large area of the nation. I've literally worked at electrical substations. I've seen what they're all about. It's not that fucking hard to knock out our electrical grid. Our grid is not designed to handle a massive EMP attack. It's for local stupid shit like Tornados and a few lines here and there blowing and having to carry the additional slight load over a bit more of the system. If you suddenly have 40 -50% of the system suddenly go down, the rest of the system cannot handle the additional load and will short out. Frying the transformers and other infrastructure.

You saying "nuh uh no it wouldn't" doesn't count as an argument to the contrary.

The navy can go 24 months without mainland support. That's plenty of time to steamroll any country.
No one is even talking about this stupid shit. It's a distraction. Stop talking about it. No one cares what the mil would be or wouldn't be capable of doing. We're talking about the effects on America if suddenly the entire electrical grid failed and stayed gone for roughly 2-5 years.

Aiden Perry
Aiden Perry

Again. You have no idea what you're talking about. Lighting strikes take out entire areas all the time. Most of you all are little youngfags so you might not have ever experienced this, but if you've ever had a lightning strike close to your house and the landline on the wall popped and was ruined —– that was essentially an EMP effect.
Where to start. I write software for a power company covering 3 states, I look at outage reasons in the data all the fucking time as a matter of my day job. I've worked as an electrical engineer in the RF industry. I've worked for the military doing communications (satellites, radio, etc) I've had lighting strike a fucking power line I was 3ft away from - you know what happens when lighting hits a line? It blows out the nearest ~$1,000 pole pig (transformer.) It doesn't do jack shit of consequence because unless there's some severe weather issues it gets replaced within a few hours. On average the utilities replace about 10% of the equipment on their grid every week (transformers mostly) and have a stockpile for a complete replacement handy. An EMP, if it were some magical EMP full of unicorn farts and pixie dicks, would knock out the grid for MAYBE a month - and no such thing exists. The ABSOLUTE MOST the NK's could do, if they launched EVERY FUCKING THING THEY'VE EVER MADE AT US AND IT ALL GOT THROUGH would be to knock out MAYBE half of CA.

The MSM lies, it's all they do - there are ACTUAL things to investigate right now, like (((Hollywood))) connection, if (((they))) pull a false flag to distraction from (((pizzagate))) then that's one thing, but it's not going to be NK doing it so don't fucking fall for it, stay focused because (((they))) are nearing the end.

Daniel Butler
Daniel Butler

Nigger are you serious? Are you absolutely kidding me? You literally think I'm talking about some stupid transformer on a residential pole? I'm talking about the main substations and the step-down substations. The ones that are 115/125kV. The ones that are run directly from the plants themselves and operated on those SCADA systems. I know EXACTLY how they work.

No one is talking about the tiny transformers on the residential poles, although those would be fried too. You pop one or all of the main lines and the SCADA system can't manage the lines. There's too much juice flowing through the lines and it wipes the main hubs out. Those puppies aren't just sitting in a fucking warehouse somewhere. They are special ordered and manufactured YEARS in advance.

The idea that overloading and melting/destroying those mutlimillion $$$$ transformers are just "plug and play" and just a matter of hopping down to radio shack to pick one up is pure fantasy. Katrina and Maria and all the other Hurricans simply knocked down powerlines and it takes months and weeks to get everything back up — if they have the spare parts and that's also when the transformers are still relatively unscathed.

Melting down and causing catastrophic irreperable damage to every substation and stepdown station in a region is simply way too much to handle for the .gov. And with the chimps chimping everywhere — there aren't going to be cops around to protect the linemen that will be fixing the equipment. LE is going to peace the fuck out and take care of their own families.

is the damage caused by a cyber attack as permanent as physical destruction?
Damage caused by a cyberattack is usually physical destruction. Machines are dumb and machines which move (or change settings) just do what the computer tells them to do. Very rarely are machines outside of people's houses (think the latch on a microwave oven which prevents it from turning on when the door is open) designed to stop it from doing stupid things, because it is both expensive to design those things in and it is generally assumed that some faggot wasn't going to try to connect everything electronic to the internet so the computer would always tell it the right thing to do anyway.
The stuxnet thing the other guy mentioned worked by making the cyclotrons used to enrich Uranium spin faster than they were designed to, and in turn break.

Well I mean yeah sure they COULD.

I've driven on I10 down in Houston/Louisiana area where the refineries are and thought about how easy it would be to set up a mortar crew in a flatbed truck (open top, but sides of the bed concealing the team) and just drive by lobbing mortars out of the truck bed at the refineries and storage tanks. Literally no one on the highway would know what you're doing at all. All they'd see is explosions going off in the plant.

Sabotage can be isolated incident or it could be part of a wider plan. All depends on the dedication, ingenuity, and what the ultimate goals of the person/group are.

Friendo, anyone with guts could do it. A coordinated substation removal is functionally all those EMP blasts equate to, and we've had people in the past just do this for jokes.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metcalf_sniper_attack
Group of random people just casually removed some substations, and damn near removed power for a huge number of people, and nobody has any idea who did it or why, because they just shot the things and ran.

If you had groups like this all over the country, the effect would be the same as if NK actually nuked us, minus the fallout and immediate removal of NK from the globe, and it could be done for a millionth of a countries nuclear budget. You could just pay random gangbangers to do it, and tell them it was a cover for a heist or gang war or some shit, and there you go, you nuked the US in exchange for food stamps. Easy.

Can confirm this. We had a reasonably small storm/flood cut off our warehouse. We couldn't get stock in for days. It really doesn't take much to throw out the supply chain.

You also have to consider labor and capital constraints. We couldn't find enough staff to actually work extra hours. There are simply not enough people who want to work manual labor to fill the shelves. I imagine this was the case at the warehouse as well.

Also, overtime is usually extremely costly for the company, so they're going to try to work out ways to do things on the cheap, e.g. bringing in labor hire or finding casuals to work more hours and the like. Often this takes time to set-up, and probably costs more money than its saves (new staff learning shit, lost sales due to delays).

Basically, once delays set in they're amplified by mismanagement and business constraints. My experience was during a small event. I imagine an EMP would have disastrous consequences, especially considering the uselessness and domestication of many people, combined with the violent opportunistic tendencies of certain elements of society.

If you're not already on land, I really would consider getting at least a couple of acres and growing your own food, combined with prepping and setting up systems that will allow you to sustain yourself off the grid.

If one steps back from it and looks at the UN objectively one would see that having ever escalating mutli-national military maneuvers is not going to end "positively" and only prompts ever increasing responses. But "positively" in this case is bombing North Korea to the stone ages and then taking the entire country over, not allowing it to evolve into something else naturally like China has without kike interference.

Starfish Prime had a reach of 900 miles. This was in the direction where the electrons were least likely to go according to the polarity of the geomagnetic field.

Even in the most densely populated cities, the Nork's entire arsenal could cumulatively kill only 300,000.

Starfish prime was a fucking massive nuke
Starfish prime was not optimized for EMP. A much smaller nuke could do worse. Furthermore, the intensity of the geomagnetic field is much greater over America.

Power plants themselves have failovers
They also have cascading failures.

Also, your comparing nuclear EMP to solar flares is not valid. A nuke (unless it's thermonuclear) has a single wave of gamma radiation hitting the ionosphere. Solar flares are very noisy and chaotic and they ionize the atmosphere forming a barrier that inhibits the flow of electrons.

Even pretending emp on that scale is real, the thing about farming is you won't need to go back 100 years, we'd basically be going back to the 50s and 60s. It would really fuck us up, but most people don't realize just how much more we produce than we need. We had a thread related to this a few years ago and I can't find my spreadsheets, but we grow more than enough of all the staples plus huge amounts of soy and corn on land that could be transitioned to better choices. The only number I remember for sure was 8 lbs of corn, per person, per day.

Nigger have you ever worked in a power plant? One steam turbine tripping will cause a surge in draw on the nearby plants. This extra draw on the generating unit, regardless if its a condensing turbine or non condensing turbine creates a huge rise in steam flow. If the boiler operators are not ready for it, the drum swell will cause the boilers to trip on high drum level, or if over compensated low drum level, bringing the whole system crashing down, cascading to other generators. This shit happens all the fucking time and is par the course. Most of the time you can run out and manualy blow a boiler down in time if needed but it can be a thing where you have a minute to do it at the most. Now these systems are controlled by plc systems, but their not perfect and most of the time a plant should fail in a safe manner. But that dosent always happen. Ive seen this happen quite a few times where a boiler randomly tripping causes nearby plants to trip because of the sudden draw, causing a local blackout. 2007 in edmonton was the first time i experianced it first hand.

Zachary King

This. This is basically what I've been telling people this whole thread who think you need to blanket the entire USA with like 600 nukes to generate enough EMPs to get the grid to go down. This is laughable. A fantasy born from the mind of people who just don't know any better, or think because they know about ONE piece of the puzzle they know how all the other pieces interact with each other and make "the Grid" function the way it does. This is akin to a machinist knowing how to make a gear…….and therefore thinking they know how a diesel engine works. In my opinion, this is the most dangerous sort of person. Someone who knows JUST enough to fuck up. This phenomenon is well known to the pilot community. Those with roughly 500-1000 hours of flight time being overconfident in their abilities —- yet are still extremely inexperienced (subject to debate I'm sure).

What is describing is called the CASCADE EFFECT. The US electrical grid is designed to automatically reroute itself, via SCADA systems, around damaged areas ("nodes", if you will) in order to maintain electrical flow to as much of an area as possible. Any one area of the grid is designed to take approximately 140% over it's usual maximum load. This is colloquially known as a "self healing smart grid". The problem comes when there is too much area damaged and the 'undamaged' portion of the grid infrastructure simply cannot physically handle that amount of electricity and gets destroyed. Either it becomes destroyed by the EM pulse itself, or the grid itself tries to reroute and just basically implodes due to inability to contain the energy. The net result is the same.

The above cascade effect is how a cyber attack would usually operate. Via Stuxnet-style of attack, they can manipulate the SCADA systems to physically destroy the grid itself one by one, until it's all gone.

The EMP would kick off that cascade effect, but it likely would not need it to begin with. In the above scenario, the SCADA systems are the ones that precipitate the electricity to melt down the infrastructure. In a EMP/CME event, the electricity would literally be flowing into the powerlines from the sky itself. Everywhere all at once. The same principles that cause a Faraday cage to be able to protect your equipment (if you're smart enough to build one for your sensitive equip), are the same reasons why everything and anything connected to the power grid is fucked. The power lines themselves will be the conduits for all that EM energy to be funneled straight into any devices plugged into that thing.

If you're going to make a Faraday cage just remember that if it's something small (A cabinet, a styrofoam cooler covered in copper/alum foil) it shouldn't be grounded — grounding simply makes it attract more free EM particles looking for the easiest path to go to ground (literally the ground). However if it's a large structure (a barn, shed, etc) it needs a ground because the large surface area will collect a lot of electrical energy and it will need to transfer it somewhere — the best place being the ground. Large surface area structures need not worry about "attracting too much EM particles" because they're going to be attracting them anyway so you need them to be able to flow out of the structure instead of simply trapping them. Because they will eventually discharge their energy somewhere. And you don't want to take the chance that something inside that it's supposed to be protecting somehow becomes the path of least resistance.

If you want to know what a nuclear generated EMP event is capable of, go read up on the Soviet experiment called "Project K".

Regardless, this is just generic stuff on EMP in general, and doesn't really have anything to do with the particulars of the fear-mongering "OMG this is what the NorKs COULD POSSIBLY DO!!!!" that the media has been pimping lately. And if the media is peddling it's propaganda wares, it's a pretty safe bet that either it's false or the 'solution' they'll immediately pitch in the same breath is NOT to your benefit.

At 4:50 p.m. (16:50) Eastern Standard Time the second Tuesday of May, on the first day described in the book's narration, the phone lines in the town suddenly go dead, along with all the electrical appliances. Just a second before, everything worked; but now, just one second after, virtually nothing does.

Within hours it becomes clear to the residents of Black Mountain that this is no ordinary blackout, and they come to the realization that the power may remain off for a very long time. Every modern electrical device is disabled, destroyed by what Matherson is beginning to suspect is an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack on the United States by unknown attackers.

The Contiguous United States has, in an instant, been thrown back into the 19th century. However, the narration in the book points out that 21st century people are not at all equipped to live under 19th century conditions. Later on, Matherson remarks that the survivors have the technology of the early 16th century.

The story's focus shifts quickly to how the community, as a whole, reacts. John is a respected outsider, and his military experience, standing as collegiate professor, and level-headedness are appreciated by the town's residents. There are hundreds of stranded motorists whose cars and trucks have simply rolled to a halt on the nearby interstate highway. Those people make their way into town, where some of them are clearly unwanted by the locals. There is an immediate growing concern about food; the leaders of the community soon begin wondering how these several thousand people are going to be fed for any appreciable length of time. No refrigerators or freezers are running. No trucks are bringing in fresh supplies every day. There are no AM/FM radio broadcasts, no television, no Internet, and thus, no communication with anyone outside the town is possible. Without modern sanitation and supplies, diseases surge. Minor wounds become seriously infected, and the community has soon exhausted its supply of antibiotics. The social order in Black Mountain begins to break down. It is too late in the year to plant and harvest crops, which is a moot point as few people in the area know how to farm anyway. Suddenly, skills that haven't been needed in several generations have become critically necessary.
